Liz Dawn has had a "career-long ambition" to appear in 'Emmerdale'.
The 76-year-old actress - who portrayed Vera Duckworth in rival soap 'Coronation Street' for over three decades - admits she's got the acting bug back after she had a cameo over Christmas in the long-running programme, which is based in Yorkshire.
She said: "It's been a career-long ambition of mine to appear in 'Emmerdale'. I am a Yorkshire girl after all. In a way it's so strange that I became famous in 'Coronation Street', which is Lancashire through and through.
"It's only a cameo but I would love to do more episodes and bob back in and out from time to time to get more involved."
And Liz admits it was "strange" returning to a different soap but insists she had no reason to worry about being nervous as it was just like "riding a bike".
She added to the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "It did feel a bit strange playing another character, especially as I knew all the crew recognised me as having played Vera, and I felt a bit edgy. But that's not a bad thing - a few nerves to give you a bit of a lift.
"Mrs Winterbottom is not a bit like Vera, she is snooty for a start - a bit like a Yorkshire Hyacinth Bucket.
"In the end I was worried over nothing, everybody I was working with was lovely and you know when you've been doing something for so long, it was just like riding a bike - it's a different character but it's the same method."
