Limahl has insisted the current 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' campmates are having an "easier" time than usual.

The 'NeverEnding Story' hitmaker - who appeared on the ITV reality show in 2012 - has been tuning into the current series, and while he thinks the bosses have done a good job to adapting to the castle settings, he hopes production can return to the jungle in 2021 to bring a sense of danger back to the show.

He told BANG Showbiz: "It's basically the same show. I watched a bit - but of course, without the threat of some of these creatures, snakes with killer bites and stuff, it's a bit easier for them!

"And also, when you do travel to the other side of the world, you're going out of your comfort zone, and also going into all that heat.

"I mean, ITV have done well, they've kept the brand alive but I think they need to get back to Australia next year, if they can."

Reflecting on his own experiences, the 61-year-old star - who was eliminated second during the series eight years ago - admitted he it was "good and bad".

He added: "The night before I was due to go in, the health and safety guy came to see me and started telling me about this tiny spider the size of your thumbnail that can't climb or jump very well, which is why it has to kill you quickly.

"He's describing the spider - blueback something or other - and if you get bit by this spider you can die within a minute, 'but we have got the antidotes'.

"The first thing I thought was, 'Yeah but what if you've gone to the toilet?!'

"So I was nervous. I was nervous about being in the goldfish bowl with 12 other strangers, as it were."

Meanwhile, Limahl - who recently released his first ever festive single 'London For Christmas' as an ode to the city he's called home for much of his adult life - is still overwhelmed by hearing 'NeverEnding Story' feature in season three of Netflix sci-fi favourite 'Stranger Things'.

The former Kajagoogoo singer - whose music has also appeared in 'Black Mirror' and 'American Horror Story' - smiled: "It felt like Christmas Day, frankly! It was brilliant. I didn't know anything about it, so I had such a pleasant surprise.

"You know sometimes you really want things? I think that if you want things too much, they don't happen. It's the unexpected things like that.

"If someone had said to me at the beginning of the year, 'Would you like your music to be featured in three massive American TV shows?', I would have gone, 'Uh, yes!'

"And just been waiting for the phone call. For it to just come out of the blue like that was amazing."
