Kicking things off with a change in location, Agent Carter's second season will be taking place in Los Angeles as Hayley Atwell stars in the titular role alongside Daniel Sousa, who's replacing the late Roger Dooley as Chief.
With news that Outlander's Lotte Verbeek signed to play Jarvis' wife Ana in the show, and Wynn Everett stepping into the role of Whitney Frost AKA Madame Masque, another casting announcement has been made.
THR is reporting that Kurtwood Smith has joined in a major recurring role as Vernon Masters, a man who possesses "a keen understanding of how to work the system." Not mentioned in the comics, it's possible he's a completely original character, or one adapted from someone with a different name in the source material.
Recurring cast members including Dominic Cooper, Bridget Regan and Chad Michael Murray will all return as Howard Stark, Dottie Underwood and Agent Jack Thompson respectively.
Smith has worked with Agent Carter showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas in the past on Resurrection, which ran for two seasons on ABC. He's also known for his psychopathic character Clarence Boddicker from 1987's RoboCop, amongst positions in other titles such as Girl Interrupted and That '70s Show.
Agent Carter season 2 will come to screens early next year.
