Marvel TV is in great shape on streaming platform Netflix, but when it comes to traditional broadcasters it's not faring as well.
After just two seasons, Agent Carter has been cancelled following heavy rumours it wouldn't be returning, and ABC have passed on the opportunity to pick Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel's Most Wanted up for its first season.
The Most Wanted series was to follow former spies and spouses Bobbi Morse and Nick Hunter (Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood) on the run from a collection of different enemies, all hoping to cash in on the bounty put on each of their heads.
Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewki wrote the script for the show with Delroy Lindo cast as Marvel Comics' Dominic Fortune.
You have to wonder if the change in ABC's president has anything to do with the decision, as former president Paul Lee said the network "love[s] the script" back when he was in the position of power.
Meanwhile, Agent Carter was doing extremely well with the fans who tuned in to watch, with a poll on ABC's website finding that 83% of readers wanted to see a third season.
Poor ratings however meant that its time was up, with a .07 demographic rating and only 2.35 million viewers tuning in for the season 2 finale - unfortunately not enough for the network to continue funding the show's production.
For now, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be safe, and will finish its third season in the US on ABC on Tuesday, May 17.
