Julia Haworth shot her 'Doctors' Christmas scenes in the middle of the summer holidays.
The former 'Coronation Street' actress - who played Claire Peacock on the ITV soap from 2003 to 2011 - has joined the BBC One daytime soap as Laura, who is keen to have a baby with her husband, and she thought it was "bonkers" doing festive filming in the Birmingham heat.
She said: "This is the earliest I've filmed Christmas scenes.
"We had to have fake snow for Claire and Ashley's Christmas Day wedding, which we shot in October, but at least it was cold then.
"It was the middle of the summer holidays filming Christmas at 'Doctors', which was bonkers."
The 39-year-old actress - who has two kids - admits her "sensitive" 'Doctors' storyline has made her consider "what is important" in her life.
She told Inside Soap magazine: "Laura is a fascinating character, she really is.
"She and Russell are going through IVF, which is having a massive impact on their lives.
"It's a very sensitive storyline, which midwife Ruhma becomes involved with - and it impacts her life as well as Laura's.
"It's one of those stories that makes you consider what's important."
Julia recently revealed she is training to be a teacher at Bolton College in between acting jobs.
She said: "As an actor still working professionally within the entertainment industry, the knowledge and skills I am teaching to the Performing Arts students here at Bolton College are 100 per cent up to date, accurate and relevant.
"This is imperative in a rapidly changing industry and in helping the learners with their future employability."
