Julia Haworth is training to be a teacher.
The former 'Coronation Street' actress played Claire Peacock in the ITV soap for eight years before departing Weatherfield in 2011, and she is now embarking on a teaching qualification at Bolton College to inspire future actors.
She told The Bolton News: "As an actor still working professionally within the entertainment industry, the knowledge and skills I am teaching to the Performing Arts students here at Bolton College are 100 per cent up to date, accurate and relevant.
"This is imperative in a rapidly changing industry and in helping the learners with their future employability."
Julia has been leading lectures in TV and film for the education facility's performing arts students, and she has helped some pupils to "grow in confidence" as a result of her teaching.
Rachel Eden, curriculum leader of performing arts at Bolton College, said: "The TV and Film Unit is an integral part of our performing arts curriculum.
"So many of our learners want to progress to careers in the TV and film industry, both in front of and behind the camera, so it's important that our classes reflect this.
"Julia has a wealth of knowledge and experience and it's been amazing to see our students grow in confidence."
Julia's teaching at the college comes after her fellow former 'Coronation Street' co-star Julie Hesmondhalgh - who played Hayley Cropper - previously led acting workshops at the educational facility.
Julia's 'Corrie' storylines saw her marry Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold), suffer post-natal depression after giving birth to their son Freddie, and she was due to be part of a child abduction plot but the story was axed for fears it would have been "too raw" following the real-life abduction of Madeleine McCann in 2007.
Julia has appeared in several shows, including 'Doctors' and 'The Dumping Ground' since departing the cobbles.
