Jessamy Stoddart feels "extremely lucky" to be a part of 'Hollyoaks' after she made soap history by being part of the first socially-distanced birth.
The 27-year-old actress' character Liberty Savage gave birth to her half-sister Sienna Blake's (Anna Passey) baby daughter in The Hutch last night (23.09.20), and while the star admitted the current government restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic "aren't making it easy" for those in the entertainment industry, she is pleased with how the scenes turned out.
She wrote: "Anddddddd... she's out! [baby emoji]
We made soap history tonight with a socially distanced birth!!! We may have been 2 metres apart and on a restaurant floor but I think we totally pulled it off. I have so much love for this cast and crew. Covid-19 & government restrictions aren't making it easy for those of us in the entertainment industry right now so I feel extremely lucky to be in a show where we can still make some cracking tele! #savethearts #hollyoaks #soaps (sic)"
Several stars congratulated the actress on the socially-distanced birth.
Haiesha Mistry - who plays Yazz Maalik on the Channel 4 soap - wrote: "You smashed it babe!! Xx (sic)"
Amy Conachan (Courtney Donovan) posted: "You're the best"
Parry Glasspool - who previously portrayed Harry Thompson in 'Oaks' - joked the village residents may need to think twice about going to The Hutch for a bite to eat after Liberty and Sadie Cressington, who was played by Alexa Lee, both gave birth on the same floor.
He wrote: "Someone needs to check the food in this restaurant! Both yourself and @__lexilee gave birth on that floor! (sic)"
