Jeremy Edwards has described his 'Hollyoaks' comeback as a "s*** show".
The 50-year-old star - whose character Kurt Benson was thought to have died in a jet ski accident in 1999 - made a sensational return for the Channel 4 soap's 25th anniversary last year, but he now admits it would've been "better to leave it alone".
Speaking on the 'Soap From The Box' podcast, he said: "It became a bit of a s*** show. I was supposed to be back for much longer, then COVID struck.
"It would have been better to leave it alone because it wasn’t one thing or the other, they didn’t know where they were going with it.
“I was prepared to go for six months to a year but doing three months then not knowing my future?"
And while the door was left open for Jeremy - who first appeared on the show from 1995 to 1999 - to reprise his role, he's already ruled it out.
He added: "The fact is, Kurt’s alive, he can come back and they’ve said they want me back in future. But I’ve said, ‘Nah.' "
Earlier this year, Jeremy confirmed he wouldn't be returning to the soap full-time, partly because of the abusive messages he'd received online.
He tweeted: "It is with a heavy heart I am announcing I will NOT be returning to #Hollyoaks.
"Many reasons but I'd be lying if I said being judged on here hasn't influenced my decision.
"Never say never but for now, I'm done. Thank you to those who have supported me for me. (sic)"
In January 2020, the former 'Holby City' actor - who lost 16lbs after suffering abuse following his appearance on 'The X Factor: Celebrity' the previous year - admitted he was saddened by the horrible insults.
He said at the time: "I had put on some weight and I went on 'The X Factor: Celebrity' to have fun and to sing and hopefully entertain people, but all people really cared about was that I'd put on weight.
"People were really mean. I got quite upset and I wrote a tweet saying I was upset and asked if people could leave me alone but that just fed the trolls.
"That was silly of me but I didn't know, I hadn't been trolled before."
