James Buckley has admitted he misses his 'Inbetweeners' co-stars.
The 33-year-old actor played foul-mouthed Jay in the popular teen comedy about four awkward mates at school alongside Joe Thomas as Simon, Blake Harrison as Neil and Simon Bird as Will.
After three series and two films, the second of which came out in 2014, the guys went their separate ways and James admits he misses the camaraderie the foursome had on set, something he’s never experienced on another acting job
Speaking in a Q&A with his wife Clair on the Stereo app, he said: "Of course we got on, but were like siblings. It was not a professional relationship. If we wanted to tell each other to f**k off and stuff we would just do that. One of my favourite things to do on set was annoy Joe Thomas and he would get angry with me and tell me to ‘f**k off’ and stuff like that. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh we’ve got to got to human resources and sit down and have a talk about this.’
“People say, ‘What do you miss about The Inbetweeners?’ I don’t miss making the show, but I do miss the boys loads because for a good chunk of my early adult life we were with each other all day every day. We would shoot together all day and then we would all be in the same hotel and we would eat together, we were each other all the time.
“Nowadays we hardly see each other, we talk to each other a lot on WhatsApp and email and stuff like that but we don’t live near each other and we’ve all got families and I do miss the boys a lot, I miss being with them so much.”
James - who has also starred in 'Only Fools and Horses' prequel 'Rock & Chips', 'Doctor Who' and comedy 'White Gold' - recently admitted he finds it hard to make new friends because of his anxiety.
He said: “I lived most of my life up to this point being socially nervous, socially anxious, I find it very difficult to talk to people, I've always found it very difficult to make friends without feeling embarrassed because I am who I am, which is a struggle sometimes.”
