The 31-year-old star is heading back to Albert Square as her alter-ego Lauren Branning in the new year, and she is being allowed to keep her brand deals, which are said to include a "major six-figure contract" with In The Style, during her time in Walford.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "There were previously strict rules about members of the 'EastEnders' cast being able to make money from other brands while they were working on the soap.

"It meant that ultimately they couldn’t cash in on the side and top up their pay packets. But now that could all be about to change.

"Jacqueline has had it agreed that she can keep her brand deals when she appears on screen in the new year.

"She has a major six-figure contract with In The Style which is incredibly lucrative and she didn’t want to lose that."

It is thought this might lead to other 'EastEnders' stars being allowed to do the same going forward.

The source added: "The move means she has blazed a trail for the other actors on the show to do the same.

"Naturally there are stipulations around what the actors will or won’t be able to plug, but thanks to Jacqueline it means they can start the conversation and see if they could make brand deals work like she has."

An EastEnders spokesperson said: "As with all talent, we are working with Jacqueline Jossa to ensure her pre-existing deals do not conflict with the show or BBC guidelines."

Last month, Jacqueline confirmed she is returning to 'EastEnders'.

She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I’m really excited. It’s such an amazing time to be back as there is so much buzz around 'EastEnders' at the moment. I’ve been watching and loving it like a fan.

Walford holds a special place in my heart, so it really does feel like coming home!"
