The former 'EastEnders' star - who played Lauren Branning on the BBC soap - is said to have tried to shut down the company she used for income from her soap career, but now she is having to cooperated with a probe into the firm's transactions.

As reported by The Sun newspaper, new paperwork filed to Companies House claims the actress owes £43,457, which includes £21,905 tax, £10,171 VAT and the remainder owed to another creditor.

The 28-year-old star is yet to settle the company debuts through Pooker Bash Limited since she put the firm into voluntary liquidation two years ago.

The company was set up to handle income from her 'EastEnders' role between 2010 and 2018.

In 2019, she is said to have been paid £75,000 for her winning stint on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', while she has also since signed deals with the likes of Hot Diamonds and The Style.

In official documents, liquidators said: "Examinations have identified a number of payments from the company prior to liquidation that require further investigation and explanation from the director, to which the director has been cooperating and enquiries are ongoing.”

The document added: "It is uncertain that there will be a dividend payable to creditors. To date no recoveries have been made possible.”

Meanwhile, a spokesman said: "Conversations are ongoing between Jacqueline's accountant and the liquidator over the true figure she owes.

"Her team do not believe the figure shown is accurate and are in ongoing discussions/waiting for finalised figures.

"Once they come to a decision on the fee which is owed, Jacqueline will of course be paying it straight away."
