The 22-year-old pop star is relieved to be back making music after his exhausting stint on the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition.

Appearing on the 'Celebrity Search Engine' podcast, he confessed: "I’m glad it’s over now because it was so hard and tiring, I wanted to hang my ballroom shoes up and get back to my music, but yeah it was good."

The 'Runaway With It' singer finished as a runner-up with pro partner Janette Manrara on the 2020 series, which was one of few live shows to go ahead amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and although he found it tough going, HRVY says the show was a "privilege" to be a part of and he's made some friends for life.

He continued: "[It's the] best show ever, very hard, so hard, it was so exciting to be part of the show, where at the time there was nothing else on TV.

"We were one of the only live shows that were actually happening and going ahead, a lot of TV got moved or cancelled, whereas we were on air, so it was a privilege to do it.

"The ratings were the biggest, for a long time. I’m glad I got to be a part of that show, and I met some amazing people, I made some really really good friends, especially Maisie [Smith] and Jamie [Laing], Jeanette my partner, all so close, Clara [Amfo], all those guys, it was a really, really good time."

HRVY is set to tour the UK and Ireland in October this year, with two shows at London's iconic Palladium, and he will also perform in Glasgow, Newcastle, Dublin, Leeds, Bristol, Oxford, Birmingham and Manchester.

Speaking about the upcoming dates, which were rescheduled to October after being postponed due to the pandemic, HRVY said: "I’ve been waiting for this tour for over a year now and I can’t wait to now be able to play new music to my fans who have been so patient."
