'Hollyoaks' is to repeat the soap's first-ever episode and air a special 25th birthday episode next week.

The Channel 4 soap will turn 25 years old on Friday (23.10.20), and to celebrate the milestone the show will re-air the programme's first episode from 1995 on E4, which will feature a youthful Nick Pickard - who still appears in the show as Tony Hutchinson - as well as Jeremy Edwards (Kurt Benson) and Will Mellor (Jambo).

Just two days earlier on Wednesday (21.10.20), on E4, 'Hollyoaks' will feature a special birthday episode which will see Kurt returning from the dead on his motorbike, after it was thought he had been killed in a jet ski accident in 1999.

Hollyoaks' birthday week episodes - which will commence on Monday (19.10.20) - will also heavily feature the McQueen family, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), Theresa (Jorgie Porter), Goldie (Chelsee Healey) and John Paul (James Sutton), as they are being blackmailed by a mystery tormentor via a macabre doll.

This comes after Jeremy confirmed this week that Kurt "didn't die", and he looks set to be back in the village for a while.

He said: "He didn't die. It was reported that while he was travelling, he died in a jet-ski accident, but that wasn't the case.

"He's been on the run for a long time and he'd had enough of that.

"He comes back to see Tony, to be home. Put it like this: He's not disappearing."

As well as Jeremy returning for the birthday week episodes, Jorgie reprised her role as Theresa in time for the special eps.

She recently said: "I was excited, but obviously a bit nervous. What if Theresa has gone out of my body and my mind?

"And the anticipation of coming back has taken so long because of lockdown, but coming back felt just like home and as if I haven't even been away for five minutes."
