Ashley Taylor Dawson "dreaded" making his 'Hollyoaks' stunt week scenes work.
The 37-year-old actor's character Darren Osborne is set for a dusty time of it in the coming episodes when he and his ex-wife Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox) get trapped in the Roman tunnels under the village, which leads to an initially awkward situation between the former lovers.
The pair wind up in the life-threatening situation when they head into the tunnels after youngsters Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) and Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer), and parts of the ancient structure collapse when Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy) falls off the wagon and crashes a crane in the village.
Ashley told BANG Showbiz: "When you get that on the page you generally dread it. Because you want to make it work, and I hope we have.
"Because you're not involved in the main stunt upstairs there's always a pace to things.
"In your head you've got this pace going on and you always worry that when it's put with something else it's going to stand out like a sore thumb, so I'm very excited to see it."
But the star is also "excited" about seeing how the scenes play out, and admits he never likes to find out 'Hollyoaks' spoilers because he would rather receive his scripts and be surprised about what is coming up for his character.
He said: "There's was also excitement, as well as dread, about how you do it.
"It might be a cringe behind the sofa job.
"But a lot of the times you get your scripts, and you go, 'Right, right, what?!'
"I try not to find anything out about anything with 'Hollyoaks'. I just get my scripts.
"I don't ask for the storylines, I don't go up there and ask what's happening with Darren. Unless they bring me up. "I just enjoy that little moment in bed going, 'Right, that is what we're doing.' "
