Frankie Bridge reportedly begged 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' bosses to let her wash her knickers because they "stank of fish".
The 32-year-old star - who had been slumming it out in Gwrych Castle before being removed with the rest of the camp mates over the weekend due to Storm Arwen - is said to have campaigned to be able to clean her underwear as soon as she had the chance.
An insider said: "Frankie only asked two questions when the celebrities were taken out of camp. did Storm Arwen affect Surrey where her family are, and could she wash her knickers? She really petitioned hard for her pants and moaned that they stank of fish guts and offal."
The Saturdays and 'Loose Women' star's request was granted, with ITV bosses reportedly "taking pity" on the former pop star, but they then had to allow the other celebrities the same luxury as a result.
As quoted by The Sun newspaper, the source added: "Inside the castle the stars only have basic washing facilities and Frankie knew they’d still reek even if she was able to wash them. ITV bosses took pity on her and gave her the green light to give them a good wash back in isolation.
"Since then the other stars have been afforded the same luxury. The conditions in camp have been incredibly tough and with all the upheaval, bosses felt they should be kind."
Despite the storm bringing the show to a halt, being able to "start again" with five fresh pairs of underwear has been the highlight of the week for the singer.
The source said: "It’s made Frankie’s week and she is thrilled to be able to start all over again, this time with five fresh pairs of pants.”
The show - which is being broadcast from the Grade II listed building in Abergele, North Wales again this year - is expected to return to screens live on Monday (29.11.2021) after suffering "technical difficulties" due to the storm.
In a statement ITV said: “Whilst we get the production base back up and running after suffering technical issues due to the storm, we have removed the celebrities from the castle.”
