Dayle Hudson has called for Jacqueline Jossa's 'EastEnders' character Lauren Branning to return to the soap.
The Albert Square star's alter-ego Peter Beale will be in touch with his ex Lauren - who he shares son Louie with - next week when her house burns down in New Zealand, and the star thinks his alter-ego could get his "happy ever after" if the pair head back to Walford.
Quizzed on whether he would like to see Lauren and Louie back in the East End, Dayle said: "I would love to.
"There's not a lot of love for Peter on the Square right now, that's something he's missed ever since his twin died. He feels as though a part of him is missing.
"And he had that love with his son when he was first born, but he's lost that along the way.
"So I think if Lauren and Louie come back, it would be the happy ever after Peter wants.
"And I like the idea of messing around with a young whippersnapper on set."
While there's not much love for Peter on the Square for the time being, one person who always has his back is his nan, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), and Dayle has "such admiration" for the 65-year-old actress.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine: "I've always had a good relationship with my nan, which is similar to Peter and Kathy's.
"Gillian's amazing, she's so funny. I have such admiration for those experienced actors who have been on 'EastEnders' for a while, how they find enjoyment every day, love their job and keep it fresh.
"I hope I'm there or thereabouts when I'm a similar age."
