Chris Bavin would welcome Ashley Banjo or Kimberley Walsh on 'Eat Well For Less'.
The 41-year-old presenter - who has fronted the BBC One show since 2013 - has weighed in after the Diversity star and former Girls Aloud singer were pitched as potential replacements for his departing co-host Gregg Wallace.
Speaking to Simon Gross on 'Get Gossy With Grossy', he said: "The likes of Ashley and Kimberley will put bums on seats."
When it was suggested Kimberley could step in to make them the "Posh and Becks" of television, Chris certainly seemed keen.
He added: "Why not? That’s one vote for Kimberley then!"
He also put forward Simon himself as a potential new sidekick for the show, but the former 'Big Brother' star - who appeared on 'Hell's Kitchen' in 2005 - admitted he "can't whisk an egg".
Comparing the interviewer to Gregg, Chris quipped: "Well until you told me you couldn’t cook I was going to ask you! [You've] got the right hairstyle - bald!"
Chris admitted he will miss his co-star after his decision to step down after eight years at the helm, and suggested Gregg has been something of a mentor for him in the world of TV.
He said: "I was disappointed when Greg said he was leaving but respect he has to do what he feels is right.
"Gregg is one of the biggest names in British television... Gregg and I are very similar. When I started in television, Greg took me under his wing and told me how it all works...
"When we are out of lockdown Gregg and I will have a farewell pint and catch some rugby together. He supports Wasps, I am a London Irish supporter."
