The CW have now officially picked up the previously untitled new DC project and Arrow/The Flash spin-off that's being worked on, christening it with the official title DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Producer Greg Berlanti steps up once again in a superhero team-up show that'll feature fan favourite characters who unite to confront an "unstoppable threat".
Dominic Purcell stars as Heat Wave alongside Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein - all three of which have previously appeared in The Flash. From Arrow we have Brandon Routh's The Atom and Caity Lotz whose role in the series is shrouded in mystery following her character's death at the beginning of Arrow season three. Fans are speculating however now that Rip Hunter has been confirmed - a time-traveling rogue - she could appear again as Black Canary. Rounding out the cast are Arthur Darvill, Franz Brameh and Ciarra Renee.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow official synopsis reads: "When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
Greg Burlanti has also just landed a series order for Supergirl on CBS - we can't wait to see just what's up his sleeves in this forthcoming series!
