Alex Fletcher has teased 'Hollyoaks Later' will be "gruesome, a little bit sexy and a little bit risqué".
The 43-year-old star's character Diane Hutchinson will be heavily involved in the latest late-night episode of the Channel 4 soap, which will first air on E4 on Monday (06.01.20), and she has told fans to expect a much more "fiery and feisty" version of the usual show.
She said: "Obviously because it's later we can get away with a little bit more. It's slightly gruesome, possibly a little bit sexy and a little bit risqué.
"We filmed a lot of it on this beautiful camera which makes everything look quite filmic.
"A lot more time was spent on lighting and shot choices, so it just looks really high end and really glossy.
"We could just push the stories a bit more, and be a lot more shocking, and a lot more fiery and feisty."
Alex's involvement in the episode looks set to be dramatic following her alter-ego Diane's recent smooches with her husband Tony Hutchinson's (Nick Pickard) dad Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann).
Diane believes Tony has left her for another woman when in fact he has been kept prisoner in the pig farm by evil serial killer Breda McQueen (Moya Brady), and Alex admits it is "extreme and horrendous" what Breda has put Tony and Diane through.
When asked how she would react if she knew what was happening with Tony at the pig farm, she said: "I have no idea. I feel like it's quite extreme and horrendous, it's horrific what Breda has put her through and in her mind she's mourned him really, he's dead to her, which is really harsh to say but she thinks that he's left her.
"She had a phone conversation that Breda made him do and he said, 'I don't love you anymore and I won't be back so just get on with your life,' so that's what she's doing. Just with his dad, which is a bit awkward."
'Hollyoaks' star Ellis Hollins recently admitted he hopes Tony will turn into Leonardo DiCaprio's 'The Revenant' character and become the "hardest man ever to grace Hollyoaks" if he finally escapes evil Breda's clutches.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I think he's going to come back after everyone thought he's dead.
"He'll be alive and be battle scarred with a massive beard, long hair. Like Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Revenant'.
"I think he's going to come back as the hardest man to ever grace Hollyoaks and doesn't take crap from anyone."
When it was suggested Tony could sleep under a pig's carcass to keep warm, after Leo's character Hugh Glass - who was a real-life fur trapper - slept in a horse's carcass, Ellis replied: "Yeah, that would be brilliant.
"It would keep him warm. Maybe on 'Hollyoaks Later'."
