“American Idol” results The battle between two of the lowest vote-getters came down to Karen Rodriguez and Haley Reinhart. The former turned in a mediocre English/Spanish performance on Wednesday, while the latter has spent the past three weeks unable to find her comfort zone.
In the end it turned out Rodriguez received the lowest number of votes and had the task of singing for her show survival. To be fair her performance under pressure was a lot better but despite support from Jennifer the other judges did not 'see it'for her, so no save.
After being given another chance Reinhart will need to pull out something special next week if she is to continue although in my personal opinion, she didn’t inspire a lot of confidence so it will be no surprise if she is next weeks evictee.
Her answer to Ryan Seacrest question of had she found her musical path yet was.“If I could put it all together, I’d love to do rock and funk and blues all into one. I’ve got to find what that is, but I feel like I’ve got it inside of me,” A bit beyond her but who knows what next week will bring.
Lee DeWyze popped up on the “Idol” stage for the first time since winning the season nine title, with Ryan pointing out he’d gone from “salesman to superstar overnight.”
Ryan also reminded Steven Tyler that he had agreed Wednesday night to perform onstage with James Durbin ... if Durbin makes the finale. It seemed the host felt like having an extremely nervous Durbin onstage with him — a singer desperately eager for Ryan to be quiet and get to the results already — was a good time to press the point further.
“Do see a little of yourself when you watch James perform?” Ryan asked. “No,” was the Tyler answer.
Then Durbin did a 'sad face' which had Tyler backtracking and saying well yes he did. The the host put Durbin out of his misery telling him he was safe, and one step closer to that potential gig.
An interesting thought , for the first year the “Idol” finalists have Twitter feeds and are encouraged to use them which has produced an additional benefit, it has become a predictive tool.
Naima Adedapo, Rodriguez and Reinhart had the smallest number of Twitter followers. Adedapo had 10,803, Rodriguez 11,941 and Reinhart 11,955. They were also the three singers with the fewest votes.
