"American Idol" and it was farewell to another four more semi-finalists on Thursday, and unlike last week no one could feel they received harsh treatment.
The eliminated. first of the guys to bid farewell to the Idol stage was John Park was the first of the men to go, most likely because of his forgettable performances and his lack of stage presence, to be honest I don't recall any one of his performances.
Park, I am reminded was the favourite of Shania Twain at the auditions, but in reality he turned out to be someone you wouldn't hear on the radio.
The other male to be shown the early exit door was Jermaine Sellers. It could be argued that he wasn't one of the two worst but the unlike Alex Lambert, he hasn't the cute teen appeal,
The real pity is that was arguably the only one of this years cut to show any charisma and a sense of style that made him and his performances memorable.
Alex Lambert’s struggle with his nerves became apparent with every second he was onstage looking ready to throw up at any time. He needs to work out how to get over this if he is to stay in the mix going forward.
Over to the women - they were dealt with in a cool and calculated manner by host Ryan Seacrest determined to stay in time, Ryan didn't work the drama element of the eliminations ,as he quickly told Lilly Scott, Paige Miles and Katie Stevens all got to sit down they were through, but Michelle Delamor and Didi Benami had to stand up and face the music. Delamor got shown the door to the car park. It was noted that Benami wasn't a popular choice to remain so unless she ups her game next week it will be her turn to head out of the semi's.
The next pair to face the heat were Lacey Brown and Haeley Vaughn, and again Ryan was quick to put everyone out of doubt by announcing Healey Vaughn was to wave goodbye tonight, which was no real surprise as she always appeared to be out of her depth - too young and too soon.
As a postscript the producers need to get the group sing together, the lip-synching is, well out of sync, the beat is somewhere else, while they all appear to be robotic and frankly unhappy to be there.
