Morecambe and Wise Immortalised In Food
Morecombe and Wise will always be associated with the holiday season with some people, so it only seem right that Gold are bringing us a series of specials about the comedy duo, showing exclusive footage of the pair and first hand testimony from Joan Morecambe (Eric’s wife) starting tonight at 9pm.
To celebrate the pair breakfast sketch being declared their funniest moment by a survey of over 2000 comedy fans, the channel commissioned that odd looking artwork you see above, made entirely out of food.
Steve North, Gold General Manager said: “The breakfast scene is by far my favourite Morecambe and Wise sketch and clearly the British public love it too, so this seemed the perfect opportunity to bring two comedy heroes to life and mark the start of an exciting new show on Gold that will celebrate two national treasures.”
We’ve also got some video for you of quite how the slightly alarming likeness was created by artist Carl Warner using nothing but the foods that feature in the iconic sketch.
