The cast of Modern Family

Getting onboard with a brand new series with so many seasons and episodes already gone by is something I'm always reluctant to do, and so when a colleague suggested I watch a couple of episodes of Modern Family, I was hesitant at first.

Settling down one night after I'd finally gotten to the end of Breaking Bad and didn't know what to do with myself, I took a chance and turned on Netflix once more to see what all the fuss was about.

The show follows three families living in Los Angeles that are all somehow interrelated, with characters that members of the audience should be able to relate to at some point or another.

The show has earned many awards

At just over 20 minutes per episode, I found myself laughing from start to end as the over the top group of adults and their children laugh, cry, fight and fall out and before I knew it, I was three episodes in.

One of the most watchable series I've come across, I find myself nearing the second season with excitement and anticipation, high hopes and a new found love for Ty Burrell who plays Phil Dunphy.

For those who are looking for a show they can binge on, this is for you. It's funny, it's real at times and wacky at others, and the writing is far ahead of most sitcoms that are churned out in the present day.
