Happy Valley starts this month
Sally Wainwright's new drama for BBC One, Happy Valley, is coming to screens from Tuesday April 29.
In a brand new first look trailer, viewers can get a glimpse of some of the action they can come to expect when the series does begin.
Sarah Lancashire plays Sergeant Catherine Cawood, on duty when Kevin Weatherill (Steve Pemberton) comes into her police station reporting a crime.
He loses his nerve however, reticent about the details, and it's revealed the crime he is reporting is his own brain-child: a plot to kidnap his boss's daughter and keep the ransom to put his own children through private school.
Local king-pin Ashley Cowgill (Joe Armstrong) has put the plan into action, and what was once a fantasy has become a dangerous reality.
