Before Frankie's operation, Connie asks Jac to find Jayne's PA and ask if she has any emergency meetings. Connie and Ric do Frankie's operation together, there is a bit of a power struggle during it between the two, but in the end they work together. Connie keeps referring to Ric's resignation and won't let it lie. Later, Jac tells Connie that there were no emergency meetings booked for Jayne.
Donna asks Annalese if there is something wrong, and Annalese apologises for being grumpy, but then spots a travel guide to Rome in Donna's locker.
Donna, Michael and Annalese are in theatre together operating on Simon and Annalese is very catty to Donna, asking if women marry men who are like their fathers. Simon goes into cardiac arrest during the operation and Michael realises that Simon's earlier self-prognosis was correct. After the operation Donna is clearly upset and Michael is annoyed. But first he must tell Simon he will be OK and apologise for ever doubting his medical knowledge.
Michael talks to Annalese and asks about her question to Donna in the theatre. He knows that Annalese's father cheated on his wife, left his family and died alone, but says that they will talk about their future at home.
Faye asks Joseph if he thinks Jac is seeing anyone, as her women's intuition is telling her that she is pregnant. Joseph rushes off as quickly as possible, saying that the idea is fantasy.
Ric tells Connie that he has handed in his resignation to Jayne Grayson but that he needs to serve three months notice, which Connie sees as a 'stay of execution.' They speak to Frankie who says that he wants to change. Ric says that he will help - but that there is no rush as he isn't going anywhere.
At her birthday drinks Mark gives Daisha a bracelet, the one she saw before (when?). At first she is reluctant to accept such a nice present, but eventually she does.
Annalese sees Donna and Michael sneaking into a room and she barges in to confront them. Michael shows Annalese some boots he has bought for a surprise present and tells her that he is taking her off to Rome . The conference was just a cover story so that she didn't make any plans. Donna was just helping him because she thought it was romantic and had been reading the travel guide to find nice places for them to go as Michael was too busy to do the research himself. Annalese feels bad but Michael says Donna will be fine. They leave the hospital hand in hand and Annalese has her new boots on.
Connie sees Jayne and as they talk Connie realises that Ric has lied about handing in his resignation. Ric types up his targets for his zero tolerance plans, which go far beyond three months time, and it is clear that he is not planning on going anywhere, although Connie doesn't seem to agree.
