Period dramas such as Downton Abbey are said to be leaving such an impression on Brits, that they're decking out their homes like the ones they see on-screen.
The news comes from online marketplace eBay, who have seen a rise in the demand for Art Deco style furnishings since Downton Abbey returned to the screen.
Nearly 900 items in the category have sold a day, and current listings including a 'vanity style suite and mirror' for a whopping £5,856.
Listings have risen by nearly 50% hour on hour between 10pm and 11pm for 'antique style' furniture, particularly following the screening of such shows, also including Mr. Selfridge.
Nearly 10,000 products are listed with Victorian style which may be due to Ripper Street and Great Expectations, whilst Georgian elegance such as that in blockbuster Belle can be recreated with nearly 5,000 items to choose from.
Home and Garden Category Manager at eBay, Hannah Seal said: "Expensive film sets and high definition TV mean we are paying closer attention to the décor in the things we watch than ever before. Retailers are reacting to this, producing ranges of furniture that reflect the most popular period dramas and inspire consumers to buy on the day the shows broadcast."
