Aeroflot is flying high in the style stakes after being voted Europe’s most stylish airline, according to a new poll on travel search site, Skyscanner.
Despite Russians being voted as one of the least stylish nations in a recent poll, when asked to rate each airline’s uniform on a scale of one to five, Aeroflot’s red suits earned them top position in the rankings.
As Fashion Week hits the international style capitals, Skyscanner polled over 1,200 travellers asking which airlines lead in the style stakes.
Skyscanner’s Russia Manager, Tatiana, said: “Russian cabin crew are well-known for being very glamorous, and it is a well-respected and much sought after profession.
“It’s reassuring to see that after failing to be recognised for our general fashion sense, our Russian cabin crew are flying the flag and showing that Russians are extremely style savvy!”
While the Russians may have put their best fashion foot forward, British Airways, flying the flag in red white and blue, came in a close second overall.
In fact, British budget airline Flybe also fared remarkably well, just failing to make the top five but still taking a fashion-forward sixth place. Perhaps Kelly Brook’s recent promotional campaign for Flybe’s new inflight entertainment programme helped boost the airline’s style rating.
German airline Lufthansa, with its blue suits and yellow scarves, has pipped the traditionally chic Air France to third place, while the French airline took number four, and Finnish airline Finnair flies the flag for the Nordic region and completes the top five most stylish European airlines.
