Kelly Brook  joined cabin crew at Southampton Airport to get a new Sky initiative off the ground, offering passengers a brand new form of in-flight entertainment on domestic flights.

Passengers travelling on selected Flybe flights between Southampton and Edinburgh had the chance to get their hands on iPads and Galaxy Samsung Notes pre-loaded with hundreds of great TV shows using Sky Go Extra – a brand new service from Sky which lets you download films and TV to portable devices, so no need for an internet connection to view.

Kelly Brook said:  ‘I’m always jetting around the country, and forever missing my favourite shows because of a packed schedule.

“This new service Sky Go Extra, currently being trialled on Flybe routes, is great because I can relax by catching up on my favourite telly while  I’m travelling across the country – whether by ‘Plane, Train or Automobile’ – and I don’t even need to have WiFi.”Flybe’s Director of Marketing, Simon Lilley said that Sky’s new service provided the perfect solution for those domestic passengers wanting to enjoy in-flight entertainment.

He said: “As Europe’s largest regional airline Flybe is very pleased to have the opportunity to host the week-long trial of Sky Go Extra.

“This will be the first time ever that those flying within the UK on short haul flights will be able to take advantage of viewing the latest Sky show when on board. I am sure that those who have the chance to trial Sky’s new service will appreciate the opportunity.”

The airline planned an initiative to loan out hundreds of iPads and Samsung Galaxy Notes over the trial period, which is took place during the course of a week in January on two flights per day.

Sky Go Extra is available on smartphones, tablets, laptops and Macbooks, for just £5 per month, with shows and movies available to download in the UK and ROI depending on a customer’s Sky TV subscription.

People can use up to 4 devices to catch up on great shows and the latest movies anywhere they are, not just where they can find a reliable WiFi or 3G/4G connection.
