I have recently had a trip aboard and flying from Stanstead Airport and having a 6am flight so had to check in for 4am and being such an early flight was I going to drive or get the train the night before, have a nice early night in a lovely comfortable bed and be 5 minutes from the airport.
Well, obviously, it had to be the latter, so I looked at what hotels where close by and decided to stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Stanstead Airport. This was easy to get too as the train links from London are very frequent. I change from London Euston and I was on the Stanstead express which takes you right into the airport leaving you within five minutes, stroll over to the Radisson Blu
Check in was quick and easy, I dropped my luggage off in my room and then down stairs for a large glass of wine and something to eat.
I found the staff to be very helpful and being a woman on my own I was made to feel welcome and they kept asking if I needed anything which I thought was nice.
After my evening meal, I knew I had to be up early so decided to go up to my room, but on my way I decided to have a quick look at Pace Health Club to see what I was going to be missing out on, as had to get to bed. As a hotel guest, you can swim use the sauna or if you are up for it a class of aerobics or spinning
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with a calming influence, just what you need when you have an early flight. My room overlooked the bar area but I didn’t hear what was going on as the rooms were quiet and peaceful. I checked my emails then decided it was time to sleep. I rang reception and booked a morning call just to make sure I didn’t over sleep.
I was woken at 3.45am, after a really good night’s sleep feeling refreshed and just time to put the kettle on and jump in to the shower , get dressed then off.
I was too early for breakfast but looking at the menu I was really missing out. I would definitely recommend the Radisson Blu, it just give you a nice start to your holiday or trip.
I booked it through HolidayExtras.com so give it a try next time you have an early flight they have 500 bedrooms or suites, which all offer superb amenities; free high-speed, wireless Internet, satellite TV with in-house movie channels, tea and coffee facilities and 24-hour room service. Rooms start from £177.30 per night.
