A beautifully-restored Georgian house, 15 luxurious contemporary bedrooms and luscious designer bathrooms – the perfect place for a long lazy weekend break (in a dog friendly hotel!) or mid-week stay to discover this fascinating county, for a Shropshire wedding or family celebration, or for a relaxing Spa retreat.
When we arrived at the hotel from the outside it looked impressive, Country mansion.
Next to the hotel was the outdoor spa area which led to the modern spa centre with a walk way back to the hotel.
Inside the hotel has a feeling of sumptuous country mansion house, with a beautiful lounge area with board games to play, a small bar area and an exclusive dining room for parties.
We booked in and went to our room to say it was large would have been an understatement it was huge. The bed was that big you could have fitted the family in with you. Lying on top of it was so comfortable I just wanted to stay there and chill.
The room beautifully decorated with the biggest window floor to ceiling with lovely views across the Shropshire countryside.
We were staying in one of the two suites in the hotel that had the bath in the room which looked amazing.
The bath was amazing really spacious and had some really nice touches scented candles and really nice toiletries making all to make for a romantic setting.
I was booked in for a spa treatment which I was really looking forward to, so I quickly changed my clothes and disappeared off to the spa. I had the hot shells treatment which was totally relaxing something I had never had before.
Though I did do it the wrong way around as I was covered in oil and told not to shower or bathe to get the best benefit from my treatment, but I needed to freshen up before we went down for our evening meal.
I left it as long as possible before having my romantic bath and getting myself ready to try the restaurant.
Forelles fine dining
On arrival we were offered drinks and the menu to have a look at the hotel offered an al carte menu or a tasting menu, both looked really appetising, but we ended up opting for the taster menu thinking that nine little courses wouldn’t be too filling. This though turned out to be far from the truth I actually only managed seven. That said it was definitely the right choice.
I had the regular one and my husband opted for the vegetarian menu, both were outstanding.
We sat down at the table the hotel was really busy evey table was taken some people where having the taster menu with a selection of different wines, we had a bottle of Prosecco
As each course was served the waiter or the chef explained what each dish consisted of and how it had been prepared. This I found to be brilliantly informative and really interesting.
I can’t find enough word to escribe how good the food was, beautiful, wonderful, stunning all spring to mind.
After the meal we retired to the lounge area and just chilled for liqueurs and coffee.
When returned to our room the hotel staff had left us a little toiletries box with a spray for your pillow to help sleep but I knew I wasn’t going to need it here, but these are the nice little touches that make your visit so special.
The bed was so comfortable and warm I was asleep in no time so much so I over slept in the morning. Normally I’m awake and up at 8 but this time it was 10am before I stirred.
Luckily breakfast on a Sunday is served until 11 otherwise we would have missed out.
It was up, showered, and dressed and down for breakfast which was served in restaurant.
There was a choice of cereals, fresh fruits, pastries, or a full English breakfast. I had the full English while my husband had a lighter meal of poached egg and salmon on toast. Coffee, fresh juices completed the meal.
Check out time was 11 which wasn’t a problem as we were already packed.
The Fishmorehall Hotel is a really stunning hotel in beautiful settings which serves the best fine dining menu I have experienced. The staff are some of the best I have encountered, 5 out of 5 for the whole experience.
I would have no hesitation recommending the hotel, and as they also do weddings, what a place to get married.
I would definitely recommend it they have special offers so check them out at
