London Marriott Hotel County Hall

London Marriott Hotel County Hall

The London Marriott Hotel County Hall is ideally located on the South Bank, with views of Big Ben and the River Thames, so I was looking forward to a night in this historic hotel.

The entrance is overwhelming with polished bronze doors and marbled floors, showcasing all of the original features of the old building.

The room itself was spotless, spacious and light and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, from tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, an iron and board, mini bar and safe and extra pillows. The large bathroom boasted a shower and bath with all the usual luxury freebies. It had a great view of the river from my window too, tempting me to take in the surrounding area and attractions.

London Marriot County Hall is a hotel that prides itself in comfort and it really offers exactly that. The room was fantastic size with a four poster king size bed dressed in luxury sheets that really did give me a good night’s sleep, even in the centre of the hub of the UK.

The staff made me feel incredibly welcome and were ready to help in any way they could from giving me directions to keeping my luggage until check in time.

The breakfast had a wide range from full English to continental and the morning staff were absolutely fantastic, offering waitress service for tea, coffee and toast.

There were elements that I didn’t take advantage of, such as room service, the in house restaurant, featuring Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar and a morning newspaper, however they were all available for residents. There was also a 25m pool, gym and spa for those who are lucky enough to be staying for pleasure rather than business, like me!

Located just over Westminster Bridge the hotel is perfectly placed for attractions on South Bank, such as the Millennium Eye and Big Ben. On booking, you can request to stay in the BIg Ben Executive suite, with a view of the iconic attraction from your window! For those who are new to the city, it allows you to find your feet and take in the key sites, while not havng to venture too far until you feel more aquainted with London.

Waterloo Station is right around the corner too so there is easy access to the rest of the city on the doorstep.

The only drawback to the hotel was that I had to pay for Wi-Fi, however this was a small price to pay to stay in such unique and beautiful surroundings and have the ability to take in as much or as little of the city as I wanted.
