Sarah Ferguson says the impending arrival of the royal baby is an "exciting time".
The Duchess of York, the former wife of Prince Andrew, is looking forward to the birth of Duchess Catherine and Prince William's first child, who is is due to be born later this month.
Speaking at The Novak Djokovic Foundation gala dinner held at The Roundhouse venue in London last night (08.07.13), she said: "Any new birth is brilliant news, isn't it? It's very exciting; very exciting, of course."
Sarah is no stranger to royal baby excitement herself, giving birth to two princesses during her marriage to Prince Andrew - Princess Beatrice, 24, and Princess Eugenie, 23.
She was joined by her daughters at the charity event last month, and other guests included Goldie Hawn her daughter Kate Hudson, Gerard Butler and the tennis player himself.
The 53-year-old royal wed Andrew - the younger brother of Prince Charles - in 1986 but the pair separated by 1992, and later divorced in a mutual decision in 1996.
It was revealed earlier today (09.07.13) that Catherine and William's new arrival will be bestowed with the official title of Prince or Princess of Cambridge, taking after his or her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "The royal couple's child will officially be known as His or Her Royal Highness the Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
"The queen declared by Letters Patent on December 31 2012 that all children of the eldest son of The Prince of Wales should have the style, title and attribute of Royal Highness with the titular dignity of Prince of Princess prefixed to their Christian names."
The Novak Djokovic Foundation aims to help disadvantaged children across the world but especially in Djokovic's native Serbia.
