Britain's Queen Elizabeth II spent time with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge after her royal duties in Scotland.
The Duke, his wife Catherine and two children, two-year-old son Prince George and four-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte travelled to Balmoral to see their grandmother after her trip to open the new Borders Line Railway at Tweedbank, yesterday (09.09.15) on the day of her record-breaking-reign milestone.
The family are in Scotland on their annual break in the Highlands, however this was a particularly special occasion with the future heirs of the throne - William, 33, and 2-year-old George - stood next to their 89-year-old grandmother and great-grandmother.
It's not known if they had any private celebrations for the notable day in British history and other members of the royal family weren't present as Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall took a trip to ITV's studios for the broadcasters 60th birthday and Prince Charles carried on as normal with an engagement at Dumfries House, nearby in Scotland.
