Princess Beatrice has learned to laugh off her critics.
The 29-year-old royal has admitted to struggling with public scrutiny and growing up in the spotlight during her younger years, but Beatrice has grown to be more philosophical about criticism as she's grown older.
She said: "My experience was about growing up and living a very public life and living in an overexposed environment. So that's from being 18 and struggling with your weight to what fashion choices you are wearing."
The criticism and ridicule directed towards the Princess was particularly severe after she wore a pretzel-shaped hat to Prince William and Duchess Catherine's wedding in 2011.
The royal was conscious of what people were saying about her eye-catching attire at the wedding, but she subsequently laughed it off.
She told Vogue magazine: "When everyone else was saying 'you look ridiculous', you have to have a sense of humour."
Princess Beatrice considers herself to be an eternal optimist, meaning she's always keen to find the positives in any situation.
Of her outlook on life, the Princess - who is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York - shared: "[It's about] turning a negative into a positive is all about how you look at things."
Meanwhile, the Princess recently admitted to being inspired by her mother's strength of character.
Beatrice said: "We've been through some incredibly stressful times together as a family and every single minute she created joy.
"I am so lucky that I get to learn from her every single day. I'm inspired by her ability to give, even when she's going through something hard."
