Britain's Prince William enjoyed a day out watching his favourite soccer team, Aston Villa, on Saturday (30.11.13).
The second in line to the throne took a trip to Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, central England, to watch his beloved Villa take on Sunderland in a top flight fixture, however his first trip to the magnificent stadium failed to inspired the claret and blues to a win.
William wrapped up warm in a Villa coat and scarf as he watched the two teams play out a 0-0 draw and was spotted gasping in disbelief as the club's star striker, Belgian international Christian Benteke, narrowly missed a good chance.
The prince took in the action from Villa's chairman Randy Lerner's executive box, and afterwards Paul Lambert, manager of the Premier League heavyweights, admitted he was disappointed the 31-year-old royal didn't manage to see his side win.
He said: "I don't think he will be bothering to watch it on 'Match of the Day'.
"It is great for the club to have him here but it is a shame it wasn't a more suitable game for him to enjoy."
After the game, William stayed for about 30 minutes before leaving with his security team.
Last week, the Duke of Cambridge was presented with a Villa shirt with the name Prince and a number one on the back when he met members of homelessness charity St Basils in Birmingham.
Speaking about his love for Villa, whose local rivals are Birmingham City FC, he said: "Half the city loves me and half the city hates me."
