Royal rocker Prince William has revealed his inner-rockstar during a visit to Goole High School in East Yorkshire yesterday (04.06.14), telling the pupils he loves listening to the 'Numb' hitmakers Linkin Park and Chris Martin's Coldplay.
One student asked him about his musical tastes, to which the heir responded: "I really like Coldplay, Linkin Park."
Linkin Park by Royal appointmentWilliam was regaled with a musical performance from the school's samba band, but declined an offer to have a go on the drums himself.
William told a drummer: "I used to play the piano, trumpet and drums when I was your age but I couldn't read music. There's only so much you can remember from the top of your head."
Mild-mannered William's rock-loving admission may come as a shock as Linkin Park are known for their thrash metal style and raucous gigs, where fans often writhe around in mosh pits.
The prince visited the school to launch a new award in conjunction with the SkillForce charity in his capacity as a patron.
William even snapped a 'selfie' picture with two cheeky schoolboys.
