Britain's Prince William is buying Duchess Catherine a special gift.
The 31-year-old royal wants to commemorate the birth of the couple's first child, Prince George, by giving his wife a meaningful token, and is said to have decided upon a brooch featuring a pink diamond.
A source told the Daily Express newspaper: "William has been giving this a lot of thought for a long time. He's got lots of ideas from studying history of art at university and decided on a pink diamond as a centrepiece because it is pretty and feminine. It will be a thank you present to Kate."
The new father has enlisted the help of the Queen's jewellers to design a special piece for Catherine, 31.
He allegedly considered giving the brunette - who already wears his mother Princess Diana's engagement ring - another item from the late star's jewellery collection, before opting for a more personal present.
Meanwhile, William has returned to work as an RAF search and rescue pilot now that his paternity leave has come to an end.
The two-week-old tot - who is third in line to the throne - will remain at Catherine's parents Michael and Carole Middleton's home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, with his mother for the next few weeks.
