Harry Styles was angered by a news reporter's royal baby gaffe.

The One Direction singer has suggested an American journalist should be fired after they accidentally called Britain's Prince William by his father's name, Prince Charles.

The mishap occurred yesterday evening (23.07.13) when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped outside St Mary's Hospital in London to present their newborn baby son - who will be third in line to the throne - to the world.

He wrote on Twitter: "An American reporter just said on tv, "They just look like a normal happy family, Kate, the baby and Charles." Have a word. (sic)"

The patriotic star has been following the royal news from the US, where he is currently on tour, and appears to be glued to his TV following the latest developments.

Harry, 19, added: "Congratulations to Will and Kate on the birth of their baby. A king is born."

Catherine and William, both 31, have yet to decide upon a name for the baby since welcoming the future king into the world at 16:24pm BST on Monday (22.07.13).

Speaking about parenthood for the first time, William explained the couple were focusing on looking after their newborn.

William said: "He's got a good pair of lungs on him that's for sure. He's a big boy, he's quite heavy.

"We're still working on a name so we'll have that as soon as we can, but it's the first time we've seen him really so we're having a proper chance to catch up."
