Monaco's Charlotte Casiraghi has given birth to a baby boy.
The 27-year-old royal and her fiancé French comedian Gad Elmaleh welcomed their first child together into the world last night (17.12.13) at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco.
The president of the National Council, Laurent Nouvion, announced the tiny tot's birth at a late meeting of the High Assembly.
He said: "The royal family has a new member".
Charlotte left her Parisian residence for her native home in Monaco last week in order to prepare for the delivery.
Meanwhile, Gad recently finished his international tour so he was ready for his new arrival and isn't due to return to work until next year.
A source recently said: "Theirs is a beautiful love story and now there is a baby on the way. It's a proud moment for them."
Charlotte - who is the daughter of Princess Caroline and her second husband, the late Stefano Casiraghi - met the funnyman in November 2011 at the home of a mutual friend. Gad, 42, already has a 12-year-old son from a previous relationship.
The couple were originally rumoured to wed in a private ceremony before the baby's arrival.
