Britain's Duchess of Cambridge spent her 32nd birthday hosting a dinner party.
The royal decided to have a low-key celebration at home at Kensington Palace in London on January 9 with her husband Prince William, 31, and her five-month-old son Prince George, along with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton and siblings Pippa and James Middleton.
A source told Us Weekly housekeeper Antonella Fresolone cooked an Italian meal for the family because it was "easier than going out and leaving George at home."
The prince had returned home early from his classes at Cambridge University, where he is studying a ten-week agricultural course, to spend time with his wife and son.
The duchess had chance to relax after spending New Year with her sister and didn't want a large celebration or party.
The source said she "doesn't like a big fuss" and preferred to have those closest to her enjoy a simple meal at home.
The duchess has a busy year ahead of her, which includes a royal trip to Australia with her husband and George is expected to go along with them.
Reports suggest the couple are searching for a 'travel nanny' to look help look after him.
