Kate Middleton will be the first Royal to host a baby shower to welcome the Royal baby in a matter of weeks.
It seems that she is buckling to the typically American trend, much like 28 per cent of British ladies.
Mothercare found that over a quarter of British women are now choosing to celebrate the birth of their child with a baby shower and admit to spending hundreds of pounds a year on them!
The average woman will spend £560 a year on baby showers, and will attend 23 in their lifetime.
Of the women who had had their own baby shower, one in ten took advantage of having a baby gift list.
The baby gift list mimics the traditional wedding list, which sees the host make a list of the things they need and the guests buying from the list.
Mothercare’s Global Brand & Marketing Director Jude Bridge said, “Baby showers are a growing trend. We know our customers enjoy both the giving and receiving of gifts to anticipate the arrival of a new baby. We have a wide product offering so we can already guarantee that friends and family will be able to find the perfect gift.”
This is why Mothercare have created their top baby gift list for all of those who will be attending baby showers this year!
