A magical white Christmas came early for one lucky little girl, Allanya Wrench (4), when Angela Griffin made a surprise visit to launch the annual partnership between Fairy & Make-A-Wish.
Deep down, I think we all dream of waking up on Christmas morning to a perfect snow scene outside. I’m so thrilled to be a Fairy godmother today, creating that experience for Allanya and her family...
Allanya, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2011, returned to find her home had been transformed into a winter wonderland while she was at school, complete with Angela Griffin as a Fairy Godmother waiting to greet her.
The scene, straight from a Christmas movie, featured full-sized fir trees, hundreds of fairy lights, snow and was completed with a real life sleigh for Allanya to ride in.
Allanya’s mother, Carolyn Wrench, commented, “It was a lovely surprise for Allanya to arrive home and see the house turned into a white Christmas and Angela Griffin all dressed up as a Fairy godmother – she could hardly believe it!”
Angela Griffin commented, “Deep down, I think we all dream of waking up on Christmas morning to a perfect snow scene outside. I’m so thrilled to be a Fairy godmother today, creating that experience for Allanya and her family to enjoy - if only we could create the same effect across the entire nation on Christmas Day!”
Fairy has been working with Make-A-Wish Foundation for nine years and has raised over £1m to date to help make wishes come true for children and young-people fighting life threatening conditions.
This Christmas, it’s simple for everyone to be a Fairy godmother (or father) and help children fighting life-threatening illnesses see their wishes fulfilled. Simply look out for the special packs of Fairy in store and also visit the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/fairydish). For each person who clicks ‘Like’ or ‘Share’ Fairy will make a 50p donation directly to Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK (up to a maximum of £40,000).
