Fearne Cotton, popular TV and radio presenter, has been named Ambassador of the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2015.
The mum of one will help find and celebrate inspirational mums from all over the UK, who have made a difference to the lives of others.
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary year, the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards is set out to celebrate the wonderful things mums do.
Ambassador Fearne is encouraging the public to nominate the most deserving mums in the UK, who will be celebrated at a star-studded, red carpet event in London on Sunday 1st March 2015.
Tesco and Fearne are looking for those who help out in their local communities, raise money for charity, campaign for what they believe in and help those less fortunate than themselves.
Since the start of the event, 10 years ago, Tesco has made awards to over 80 mums and been privy to thousands of stories of heroism, selflessness, courage and achievement.
Tesco Mum of the Year Manager, Debbie Chernin, said: “Each year we find more and more remarkable mums and discover more amazing achievements and successes. Each year we are overwhelmed by the sheer hard work, determination and passion of ordinary mums who achieve extraordinary things for others.”
Speaking of her Ambassador role, Fearne commented: “It is a real honour to be chosen to act as an Ambassador for such an amazing campaign. There are so many inspirational mums out there who do such wonderful things for others and don't realise just how special they are! I am very excited to be part of the 10th year anniversary for the Awards and to help give these incredible mums the recognition and appreciation they deserve.”
Commenting on the new ambassador, Tesco Mum of the Year Manager, Debbie Chernin, said: “Fearne felt like the perfect fit for our 10th anniversary year ambassador. Mainly because her involvement in a variety of charity projects, over the past few years, has been immense. She has done everything from presenting Children in Need to climbing Kilimanjaro, for Comic Relief, trekking along the Inca Trail, for Breast Cancer Care, and cycling the length of the UK, for Sport Relief – Fearne supports a wealth of truly important causes.
She added: “On top of all that she manages to juggle being mum, to one-year-old Rex, with her many work projects, including radio and TV presenting and designing her own clothing and makeup range. She really is a huge personality with a great amount of care for others.”
