Accidents are the second biggest killer of children in the UK with six children dying every week and over 2,000 admitted to hospital.
Most families are aware of the dangers to children but a new survey has shown an alarming number of parents and grandparents donât put their knowledge into practice or have worrying gaps in their knowledge.
These statistics need not be so high. By taking a few small safety precautions, parents, grandparents and carers of small children can help to make life safer for the children in their care.
To mark the launch of 2008âs Child Safety Week (23rd June â 29th June), the Child Accident Prevention Trust are urging people to âmake a change, make a differenceâ.
