Kelvin Fletcher's wife Liz Marsland rushed herself to hospital at 5am before giving birth to twin boys.
The actress gave birth to Maximus Crowther and Mateusz Kelvin in May, and she's now revealed the dramatic events that took place beforehand.
Liz - who also has Marnie, five, and Milo, three, with the soap star - shared: "I woke up in the morning and my waters had broken.
"I rang the hospital and they said to come in. Kelvin had to stay with the kids, so I drove myself to the hospital, which is an hour away, at 5am.
"I was a bit panicky that Kelvin might miss the birth if it happened straight away. They did a scan and told me, 'It's going to be today.'"
Liz admitted she was initially overwhelmed with having so many kids at home.
She shared: "The first week was just crazy - it was like a circus act when they're spinning plates ... I couldn't physically pick up two babies at once, but now I can do it with two fingers!"
But Kelvin, 38 - who is perhaps best known for playing Andy Sugden in 'Emmerdale' - has known grown used to their new lifestyle.
He told HELLO! magazine: "It feels like it's always been like this."
Earlier this year, Liz admitted having twins will pose a unique challenge for the loved-up couple.
Liz - who married the actor in 2015 - said: "I felt every single emotion under the sun. First, there's double the worry.
"I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?
"I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it's a miracle, and I was thinking 'How are we going to do this?'
"But now we can't imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky."
