Comprised of Clayton Leah (Rhythm Guitar), Tom Hancox (Lead Guitar), Calan Nickle (Vocals), John Handy (Drums) & Dan Hancox (Bass), Warrington born ‘7 Day Weekend’ wasted no time cutting their teeth on the local scene, playing a host of shows throughout England and Wales, following the release of their 4 track Acoustic Debut EP in the Spring of 2012.
The EP caught the attention of Gavin Butler (The Blackout) and Neil Starr (Attack! Attack!), who invited the fresh-faced five piece to open their Manchester date of the Ghosts & Echoes Tour. Soon after, the band were hand-pick by Feeder for the sole support on their April Tour, granting the band an audience of 1000 hometown fans.
The five-some continue their ascent and widen their reach with the national release of their newly reworked self- titled EP which showcases their strong emotionally driven lyrics, killer hooks, and contagious melodies. 7 Day Weekend also just released a brand new downloadable single entitled ‘’Endless Doses’’, recorded by revered producer Paul Tandy (Octane OK).
The single is available now as a download and is launched in support of the band’s forthcoming Summer UK tour.
The band’s self-titled EP is unleashed this September and is packed to the rafters with catchy guitar riffs and infectious hooks, from the opener, ‘’Ghosts Of Me’’ which perfectly kicks off the record in superb style, to the dynamic and gloriously contagious, ‘’Hide’’.
The band have produced a killer record and plan to take it to the road; they have just announced a sweeping tour to coincide with the re-issue of the EP and single launch, including tour dates as far north as Newcastle and as far south as Brighton, including support dates with A Day Overdue and Hey Alaska.
