Poised to challenge for the British rock crown, Brighton four-piece Verses help kick off their busiest year to date with the release of their stunning mini-album, ‘Come To Life’.
The culmination of many years’ hard graft, this six-track set perfectly encapsulates the band’s brand of irrepressible, expansive melodic rock. While undoubtedly inspired by the likes of Thrice and Jimmy Eat World they’ve honed a distinctive, uplifting sound that’s all their own, and that’s seen countless new fans flock to their banner of late.
"We aim to write music that people can connect to, and that really means something to us," explains frontman Jason Danzelman.
"’Come To Life’ is the first release we’ve ever been one hundred percent happy with, and it’s come from spending so much time on the road, honing our craft."
"Over the last few years we’ve certainly paid our dues," bassist Joe ‘Fish’ Gale adds, "and even the difficult shows have made us stronger as a band. Now we’re in a position where we can really reach people, and build up our fanbase."
While they begin work on their debut full length, ('we’re aiming to write an album that people will still love in a decade,' smiles Jason), this comprehensive release underlines their incredibly polished sound once more.
"In 2013 we’re going to do everything we can to reach new people," Jason concludes, "and to see just how far we could take this. We’re in this for the long haul, and there’s so much more to come."
