The ladies favourites - Pretty Ricky make a welcomed return with their eagerly anticipated third album 80âs Babies set for release on September 22nd. The first single, Cuddle Up, introduces the talents of one of the groupâs acts, girl-group - Butta Crèame and comes out on August 18th.
80âs BABIES follows Pretty Rickyâs two hugely successful albums Bluestars and Late Night Special, which collectively gave crowd pleasers like Grind With Me and On The Hotline. This forthcoming album takes listeners back to a time when unadulterated R&B music was at its prime. The boys pay homage to everything 80âs and early 90âs as their remake of H-Townâs, Knockinâ Boots brings back old memories and introduces younger fans to some good olâ slow jams.
Along with the natural vocal growth, the Pretty Ricky family has some obvious changes which include the groupâs new hunk of chocolate, lead singer 4Play, "4Play is our secret weapon," says Spectacular. "Heâs here for the ladies. His falsetto is sick." The new album does not boast an endless list of guest appearances, a deliberate decision made by the group. As Spectacular explains, "We donât need to have features on this album; we are self-sufficient."
Pretty Ricky, the new bad boys of R&B, feel that one of the reasons for their success is that their music touches the inner soul. "We just wanted to accomplish the same feeling on this album so that it would be a continuation. We are in this forever."
