After teasing fans with his RnB/rap video, 'Monster', last month, soulful UK singer Kurt Collins unveils new single 'Addiction' via the Addiction EP, released in September.
'Addiction' was produced by beat-maker-of-the-moment Rymez (producer of Wiley's current UK
number 1 single 'Heatwave') and also features East London MC Griminal. Also featuring on the 4-track EP (including two exclusive Rymez remixes) is 'Grind'; a grittier pop track featuring popular rap duo Krept & Konan.
'Addiction' premiered on MTV online in August, the video for Addiction premiers on Monday on 20 August.
Born and bred in Berkshire, Kurt Collins, a former kick-boxing champion, turned his full attention music two years ago: "When I was growing up, both kickboxing and music were both things that I loved from a very young age... but music always has been my passion and the main thing that I’ve wanted to do. Ever since the age of seven, I’ve wanted to be a star."
Immersing himself in the UK music scene, Kurt released internet tracks 'Money ain't everything' (featuring Young Spray) and 'Top of the World' (featuring Ghetts) in 2011 and spent a few months focusing on writing and recording material for a mixtape. In 2012 Kurt released the video for 'Monster' (featuring North London MC Squeeks).
The track garnered strong support online from urban titles and video platforms including SBTV, Link Up TV and MTV with popular music website Shout4Music labelling the track 'an ideal pop song'.
As well as featuring on a nation-wide schools tour throughout Summer 2012, Kurt is continuing to work on his next mixtape release, which also features collaborations with artists including Wiley, Krept & Konan and Yungen, amongst others.
The Addiction EP is released 24 September 2012
