After selecting the album because it sounded like fun, we decided to review one of the songs from the album to save time, and single, The Sun Ain’t Shining No More was the lucky choice.
Within the first ten seconds the guys were loving it with Dan saying; “Sounds slutty. I like it, a lot like Beck, it reminds me of space monkeys man!”
Charlie was equally as in love with it, saying; “Now this is some summertime loving, it’s very 1970's” With Alex adding; “Yeah, it's a lot like love shack and makes me want to delve into a 1970's apple pie and twirl around.”
What’s more, vocalist Mette Lindberg scores points for “sounding cute” and Alex points out that; “She’s got a Duffy sound but with a lot more soul - not so much her voice but the sound and production has a more soulful vibe…”
Dan is keen to reinforce his apple pie idea, by reminding me that to him, Asteroids Galaxy Tour is like trying to eat your way out of a 1970's, person-sized, apple pie.” To be honest though, I think that would make me feel more sick than warm and fuzzy.
Either way though, the only downfall this CD had was its cover art, with Charlie saying; “I'm not too sure about the cover, I would have probably gone with the reverse cover of the penguins and the big moon.”
